Hakone Sightseeing Cruise
Q1. How long is the cruise?
One way: approx. 25–35 min. (*1)
Round trip: approx. 70 min. (*2)
- *1 One-way trips leave from Hakonemachi-ko or Motohakone-ko and go to Togendai-ko, or from Togendai-ko to Hakonemachi-ko or Motohakone-ko.
- *2 Please note that travel in winter (Dec. 1–Mar. 19) may take longer than scheduled.
Q2. Can I take my pet on the ship?
Yes. However, pets must be kept in a cage or carrier bag while on the ship. Cages may be rented free of charge at each port (2 cages available per port).
*Please note that large dogs (excluding service dogs) may not board the ships.
* Pets cannot be brought onboard on a leash (they must be fully enclosed in a cage or carrier bag)
Q3. Are the ships wheelchair accessible?
Yes. Some ships also offer barrier-free facilities. Wheelchairs are also provided free of charge (1 wheelchair available per port).
Q4. Can I take my bicycle on the ship?
Yes. However, please note that the number of bicycles that can be brought onboard is limited.
Q5. Can a reserve a cruise?
Reservations can be made for groups of 15 or more. (For group reservations, call 0460-83-6325)
Q6. Are there restaurants on the ship?
Drinks and snacks are sold on ships, but there are no restaurants.
Q7. What is the First Class Cabin like?
The luxurious First Class Cabin has limited occupancy to offer a more relaxing journey than the standard cabin.Please note that availability cannot be guaranteed. A separate fee is required in addition to the regular fare.
Q8. How many minutes before departure can I board the ship?
Boarding and ticket collection occurs 5 to 10 minutes prior to departure. Follow the instructions provided at the port.
Q9. Are there restrooms on the ships?
Yes, on all three ships. *The Royal II and the Victory also have wheelchair-accessible restrooms.
Q10. Are pirate ship cruises ever cancelled? If so, why?
If heavy fog, strong winds or other impediments to a safe cruise occur, departure time and/or destination may change, or the cruise may be cancelled.
Q11. Can I pay for tickets with a credit card?
Yes. JCB, VISA, Mastercard, American Express, DC Card, NICOS, Dinersclub, UnionPay, and PASMO and Suica cards are accepted.
Q12. Can a take a cruise with the Hakone Freepass?
You can ride as many times as you like so long as the pass is still valid and you use the standard cabin.
*Use of the First Class Cabin requires a separate fee for each cruise.
Q13. Where can I buy the Hakone Sightseeing Cruise and Ropeway 1-Day Ticket?
The Hakone Sightseeing Cruise & Ropeway 1-Day Ticket can be purchased at Cruise terminals and Ropeway stations.
- ・Please inquire at the ticket booth about the ending time of ticket sales.
- ・Sales may be suspended due to bad weather.
Q14. Is there parking?
Yes. Togendai-ko has about 40 free parking spaces and about 200 pay parking spaces. Hakonemachi-ko has about 120 free parking spaces, and Motohakone-ko has about 70 pay parking spaces.
Q15. Are there coin-operated lockers?
There are inside Togendai Terminal at Togendai-ko. You can also find them at the Hakone Tozan Bus stop in front of Motohakone-ko.
